Activity

Litsenzi.bg sells digital software licences (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and others), delivered exclusively by electronic means — the licence key and activation instructions are sent to the e-mail address given by the customer. No physical goods are shipped.

Legal basis for the resale of licences

Trading in pre-owned software licences within the European Union is lawful on the basis of the exhaustion of the distribution right:

  • Directive 2009/24/EC on the legal protection of computer programs, Art. 4(2).
  • Judgment of the Court of Justice of the European Union in case C-128/11 (UsedSoft GmbH v Oracle International Corp., 2012), confirming that the copyright holder cannot oppose the resale of a licence for which remuneration has already been received, including where the licence was downloaded from the internet.

On every resale the previous holder ceases to use the licence, which is a mandatory condition under that case law.

Trademarks and intellectual property

Microsoft, Windows, Office and all related names and logos are registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. Litsenzi.bg is not affiliated with, sponsored by or an official partner of Microsoft Corporation. Those names are used purely descriptively, to identify the compatibility and subject matter of the licence offered.
